malaysian cultures exchange campaign

I as a Malaysian, I actually feel glad that I was born here because Malaysia is hailed all over the world as a shining example of a successful multi-racial country. One of my many enthusiasms is to get myself involved in cultural program.  A few weeks ago, I had participated in a Malaysian cultural exchange program called ‘Malaysian cultural exchange campaign’. In this campaign, I was one of the representatives of Johor at the campaign to promote the diversity of Johor’s cultures. In that event, my friend and I wore Malay dress and had obtained much praises from the public. Moreover, I saw a lot of the representatives were wearing different cultural dresses although they are not the race for the dresses. Like Malay wore cheongsam and sari, Indians wore Iban and Kadazan dress, Chinese wore malay dress and so on. It shows that all Malaysians to live and work harmoniously are still evident even after 54 years of independence. This program had attracted to a number of international students and they took a look on our exhibition book of about Johor. My group members and I had tried our best to explain to them what and how Johor like. They gave us a quite satisfied mark on our explanation. By this event, I realize that racial integration is very important for the country development. This event lasted 6 hours from 10am to 5pm. During this time, I had been exposed to many minority cultures Malaysia has, like Hamdolok culture that can be found in Johor, Bapa and Nyonya culture in melaka, orang jawa culture in different parts of Malaysia and many again.
this is me, the baju melayu  i was wearing was borrowed from my malay friend......
they are my friends

As a Malaysian citizen, we have the responsibility of promoting how good and advance our country is rather than spoiling its image. Beside of this program, I have also been participating a lot of integration programs such as HIMPUN which was a 3 days 2 night camp.  This camp was hold by UUM at the aim of encouraging students from different races to live and mix with other races. I hope there will have such program and activity in this coming semester, because it’s undeniable that Malaysians are very fortunate to having a diversity of cultures life in Malaysia.

happy chnese new year and rabbit year

my beloved family and I had a great reunion dinner last night. Today is the 1st day in lunar calendar, we also named it as CHINESE NEW YEAR. Along with this joyful and the most happiest day, I get myself crazy and mad with the repeating red packets and gifts that received from my relatives and friends. The meaning of giving red packet and gift are sharing and wishing to the receivers have a properous future, lucky, wealth and a heathy life. Chinese new year is playing a vital role where families and friends gather to welcome chinese new year. But i found that a lot of people are still unware of the importance of cny. i woke up at around seven in the morning for praying and went to give new year's greeting by visiting my relatives and friends by then. Afterward, we moved to my aunty's restaurant for a rich lunch and gambling.

Here is some photos..^^ they are gambling illegally

my 1st semester roommate

When I first stepped into UUM, I felt extremely happy and stimulate, I have never thought I qualified to get a seat in a university.  UUM is a wonderful university and build with the concept of natural. As I know, UUM is a third largest university in Malaysia, and has a plenty of special facilities compared with other universities. With the provided golf field, international go-kart circuit and swimming pool and other facilities that do not offered in other universities.
The first person that I met in UUM is a forth semester senior who is taking international business and living in DPP TNB.  As mentioned above, his name is Jackson, he is a very nice guy and not hesitate to give instructions and advices.  Afterward, he brought me to get my room key and introduced me my roommate, who called Teh Teck Tiong. We were placed at 2a121 in DPP TNB. I moved to my room around 20 minutes earlier before he comes. When I first saw him, I felt that he is a silent guy and refusing to communicate with other people. He did an action which was the most impressed me was by asking me a question “how many “As” did you score in STPM?” At first, I was not willing to reveal my result because knowing that he might do ten times better than me. But after a 20 seconds consideration, I decided to tell him how my result was. Got along with him during the first week, we seldom talk and kept quiet in the room. In fact, he is a very lazy and dirty guy and refused to do any chores like cleaning and the likes. But situation got better after 3 weeks of living together, we started to get closer and communicated and shared our experiences with each other.  I frankly asked him why you are so lazy then he answered me because you are a very hardworking guy.  I got silence for a while and told him should lend a hand instead of sleeping and watching while I am doing the chores. Fortunately, his attitudes get improved and willing to do the housework.

I am having my second semester right now, and my previous roommate, Teh Teck Tiong had been located at other DPP, that is DPP TM. Honestly, I hope he will be my roommate again because he is one of my best friends ever in UUM.  Wish you all the best Teck Tiong!!!!
